History of the group

• HIFE, S.A is a company founded at the beginning of the 20th century, in 1913. It is difficult to summarize briefly 90 years of transport, but in essence, the company begins its going for lands of Castellon de la Plana (Benasal), passing to cover practically all the province in the 20s.

• In 1925 it comes to Catalonia to carry out the regular line route Tortosa - Valderrobles and Tortosa - Vinaroz. During this epoch the company is growing acquiring and consolidating regular lines in the provinces of Tarragona, Aragon and the own ones of Valencia and Castellón.

• In the years ' 50, it enters on the discretionary market and realizes services in Madrid and Barcelona, besides acquiring international experience with the regular line between Barcelona and Frankfurt. In this epoch the first bar is opened in the bus station.

• In the years ' 60 the first restaurant SNACK BAR opens and also ESPATUR Travel Agency is created.

• At the end of ' 70, HIFE arrives in a regular line up to Barcelona, inaugurating the line for highway The Ràpita - Amposta - Tortosa - Barcelona. Also the regular international line that joined Madrid, Saragossa and Barcelona with Genoa, Florence and Rome is created.

• In the 80 ', HIFE establishes base in Tarragona, Salou, Cambrils and Peñíscola. It begins carrying out regular route-lines from Saragossa to the Costa Dorada and Coast of Azahar. It also initiates Hotel Bus service or motor-coach car - bed, with a special bus- service trips all over the Europe.

• In the years ' 90, HIFE initiates the urban service of Tortosa and after the union of some companies it comes in regular line to Madrid from Tarragona and Salou. Later it amplifies   its services joining the North of Spain (San Sebastian, Bilbao, Vitoria and Pamplona) with the coast.

• In an epoch of technological advances it creates a chip card which allows to all the clients to enjoy of a discount for using it and creates the web page www.hife.es.

• In 1992 HIFE group is selected by American Sponsor Mars Company to carry out a transport functions in the Olympics of Barcelona ' 92 displacing visitors of more than 40 countries.

• The wholesale HIFETOURS specialized in congresses, big groups and tourist reception is created.  After the creation of PortAventura, it initiates the tourist packages dedicated to this thematic park.

• HIFE´s efforts are rewarded. It is selected in Spain as a "better company of the year in passengers' transport in regular line ".

• Initiates XXI century extending its services and opening 2 restaurants Cap de Ball in Tortosa besides 3 retail agencies in Amposta, The Pineda and Tortosa. It acquires also the Station of Service Estadi with the leader Cepsa.

• In summer of 2004 is selected as Official Transporter of the World Competition on Rowing  celebrated in Banyoles (Girona)   in which   the representatives of the 67 countries of the whole world took place. The urban transport begins in Calafell's coastal locality.

• In 2005 and on the occasion of the celebration of 90 HIFE's Anniversary appears the book " Veus i Teclats ". The whole collection destines to the " Associació de Malalts d'Alzheimer of the Terres de l'Ebre "(Association of the persons of the Terres de l'Ebre with the Alzheimer Problems).

• In 2008, wholesale HIFETOURS is elected an official agent of sales of tickets for the Expo Zaragoza 2008.

• With the experience of more than one century dedicated to the world of the tourism and the transport the Group HIFE continues working day by day with an only aim: to obtain the maximum satisfaction of our clients.
