HIFE receives the “Company of the Year 2026” Award in the Regular Transport category
This Thursday, IFEMA Madrid hosted the awards ceremony for the “Companies of the Year 2026” Awards, organised by Autobuses & Autocares magazine. The event, a key meeting point for the road passenger transport sector, brought together more than 350 professionals and institutional representatives.
In this context, HIFE was recognised as “Company of the Year 2026” in the Regular Transport category. The award was presented by Jaime Verdú, Managing Director of Volvo Buses Spain and Portugal, and received by José María Chavarría, CEO of the company.
The event featured broad institutional and sector representation, with the participation of Elena Atance, Director General for Road and Rail Transport at the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility; David Moneo, Director of Ifema Mobility; Miguel Sáez, Director of Autobuses & Autocares; as well as leaders of professional associations such as Rafael Barbadillo, President of Confebus, and representatives of operators, manufacturers and specialised media.
During his speech, José María Chavarría highlighted the collective nature of the recognition and HIFE’s commitment to continuous improvement of passenger services: “Receiving this award is a real challenge to continue strengthening the lines of work we are developing and to keep striving to offer passengers ever better quality. This award belongs to all the people who are part of HIFE.”
The jury particularly valued HIFE’s track record in regular transport, its ability to adapt to new mobility challenges, and its commitment to innovation and sustainability. This recognition comes at a time of consolidation for the company, which has more than 110 years of history and an extensive service network that transports millions of passengers every year.
Alongside HIFE, Autobuses & Autocares magazine also recognised other companies in the sector. Torres Bus was awarded in the Discretionary Transport category; Salamanca de Transportes received the award in Urban Transport; and Autocares Abagón was recognised as “Company of the Year” in the SME – Regular Transport category.
The ceremony concluded with a networking reception, during which attendees shared insights on the evolution of the sector and the main challenges facing road public transport. For HIFE, this award represents an incentive to continue moving towards increasingly efficient, innovative and people-centred mobility.
