Agua de Benassal celebrates HIFE's 110th anniversary with a commemorative edition

This morning, a special edition of Aigua de Benassal bottles was presented at the Tortosa bus station, featuring a commemorative label dedicated to the 110th anniversary of HIFE (Hispano de Fuente en Segures). This collaboration symbolizes the historic bond that unites both entities, born in Benassal and connected by more than a century of shared history.

The event was attended by representatives from the sector, local authorities, and members of the media. During the occasion, the exclusive design of the new label was unveiled, symbolizing a strong connection to the company's roots.

Both the mayor of Benassal, Elia García Colom, and HIFE's CEO, José María Chavarría, highlighted the symbolic and emotional significance of this initiative. The mayor noted: “When we talk about a shared history, we’re talking about much more than two brands: we’re talking about people, communities, paths already traveled, and many more still to come.”

José María Chavarría emphasized the value of the collaboration and the meaning behind the gesture: “This label represents a symbol of gratitude, shared history, and a common future. Benassal is part of our identity. Returning to our roots, even through this gesture, is a powerful act of recognition.”

HIFE was founded in 1915 with the aim of facilitating the travel of spa-goers who visited the springs of Benassal, especially the spring at the Font d’en Segures. Thanks to this transport service, the development of thermal tourism in the region was boosted. Aigua de Benassal, for its part, has bottled water from that same spring for decades, recognized for its purity and therapeutic properties.

Both companies share the mission of making an exceptional natural resource accessible. Their paths have evolved in parallel, growing in harmony and strengthening their ties over time. In March 2018, they already celebrated their shared legacy with a special labeling edition that featured the first bus that arrived at the spring. That action symbolized their shared origin and was one of the first public demonstrations of this century-old alliance. The current edition revives that spirit with a renewed image and a message of continuity and commitment.

In the same celebratory spirit, it has also been announced that the upcoming edition of the Benassal Craft Fair, taking place on July 26 and 27, will give greater visibility to HIFE's 110th anniversary. As part of this commemoration, the official poster for the fair includes the image of one of HIFE's vintage vehicles, reinforcing the historical link with the town.
