New MITMA Travel Passes – Starting July 1, 2025

As of July 1, 2025, the new travel passes from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MITMA) will come into effect, in accordance with Royal Decree-Law 1/2025. These new pass types replace the previous free pass and offer various options tailored to different user profiles.

Types of Available Passes


1. 10-Trip Pass (Multipersonal)


● 40% discount on the maximum fare.
● Can be used by multiple users.
● Valid for 1 year from activation.

2. Monthly Personal Pass


● 50% discount on the maximum fare.
● Personal and non-transferable.
● Valid for 30 days from activation.

3. Youth Pass (Ages 16 to 26)


● 70% discount on the maximum fare.
● For individuals born between January 1, 1999, and December 31, 2010.
● Requires Spanish nationality or legal residency in Spain.
● Personal and non-transferable. Valid for 30 days.

4. Child Pass (Up to 15 Years Old)


● 100% discount (free).
● For children born between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2025.
● Requires Spanish nationality or legal residency in Spain.
● Valid throughout the second half of 2025.

 
Usage Control and Regulations


● All passes are subject to usage control to prevent fraud or misuse.
● The number of discounted passes per person is limited.
● In the case of misuse, cancellation may occur in accordance with the established conditions.

Important: The use of the pass is subject to not exceeding the allowed number of trips, unless the reservation has been previously cancelled or the previous trip has been completed.
 
Ticket Settlement


Regarding how trips are billed:

● The total amount for all tickets used by each user will be charged.
● The amount already paid in advance for the pass will be deducted.
● This means that users who do not use all their trips may indirectly compensate for excess trips made by others who exceed the allowed limit (for example, more than 20).
