Hife strengthens the Begues–Gavà–Olesa (902) bus line from January 7 with increased service and new connections
From next January 7, the bus service connecting Begues with Olesa de Bonesvalls, Gavà and the Baix Llobregat area, operated by Hife and managed by the Government of Catalonia, will implement a significant package of improvements aimed at increasing service frequency, enhancing territorial connectivity and strengthening service quality.
The expansion will represent an increase of more than 30% in the number of services on weekdays, reaching 37 daily trips from Monday to Friday, with a broader timetable distribution from early morning until evening.
More connections and peak-hour reinforcement
Among the main new features is a direct connection to Viladecans Hospital, which will have seven daily services, as well as strengthened connections with Gavà, the train station, and trips towards Avinyonet del Penedès, with additional services to Olesa de Bonesvalls and the Can Mitjans residential area.
The improvements also include specific reinforcement of services during peak hours, especially early in the morning and around 3:00 p.m., with the aim of meeting regular travel needs for work, education and connections with other modes of transport.
A more modern, sustainable and digitalised fleet
To accommodate this increase in service, Hife will add a new hybrid vehicle to its fleet, allowing the line to operate with four buses simultaneously. Line 902 currently has an average vehicle age of four years, reflecting the company’s commitment to a modern, sustainable and progressively digitalised fleet, focused on improving energy efficiency, passenger comfort and service reliability.
Hife’s CEO, José María Chavarría, highlighted that “this service reinforcement, together with a modern and efficient fleet, will significantly improve everyday mobility and offer public transport that is more reliable, comfortable and better adapted to the real needs of the area”.
The new timetable, including details of all services, is presented below and will also be shared through the usual information channels.
